Know what happens before the work begins.
An engagement should make responsibilities easier to understand. Here is the process we propose, from the first conversation through the review of results.
1. Discuss your priorities.
Tell us what your organization does, what brought you here and who already supports the relevant systems. An introductory conversation does not require passwords, private reports or access to your environment.
2. Agree the scope and proposal.
Identify the systems, questions, methods and deliverables. Confirm responsibilities, required access, timing, fees and exclusions. Decide how findings and sensitive material will be shared.
3. Carry out authorized work.
Use the agreed methods and contacts. Record evidence and coverage limits. When a new issue would require different work, discuss that scope change before proceeding.
4. Explain the findings.
Review the evidence, practical significance and recommended priorities with the right people. Make room for operational context that may change how a finding should be handled.
5. Implement agreed improvements.
Where remediation is included, approve the plan, coordinate changes and check relevant functions afterward. Keep a record of completed work and remaining exceptions.
6. Decide what should be reviewed next.
Hand over the agreed deliverables and ownership information. Continue with your team, arrange a targeted follow-up or establish an ongoing review cadence.
